Suppose scientists could bring back Neanderthals with some help from cloning and then they could grow up in modern society? How would they be treated and become part of the community. A new and TV series The Neanderthals Are Back raises these questions in a series of dramatic stories. It has already gotten four five-star reviews on Amazon and there is TV interest in the series..
In the first book, The Beginning, the first six Neanderthal children grow up as babies in a lab where they are taught by a nursery school teacher and after that they experience life in a group home, become foster kids, and experience elementary school and life as teenagers and young adults. Along the way, they are soon encounter difficulties, including being bullied and mocked because they are different, and they face discrimination, prejudice, and intolerance as they seek to make friends and gain acceptance. They also experience exploitation when they start working. Meanwhile, the media features occasional stories on them, and some even get a genius pills from scientists, turning them into nerds for a while.
It is an especially timely series because it places the stories of this first generation of modern Neanderthals in a modern world going through all kinds of turmoil, especially centered around illegal immigration, income inequality, mass shootings, increased crime, sex trafficking, drug smuggling, and more. The Neanderthals are often picked upon as victims of exploitation and are often wrongly accused of crimes as easy targets. Thus, the series highlights many issues that might occur should the Neanderthals return, such as questions about inequality, prejudice, and discrimination.
